Mark H. Rummeli, special professor, Ph.D. Supervisor, Director of Common Characterization Center, College of Energy, Soochow University. In charge of the FEI Titan high-resolution spherical aberration correction transmission electron microscope (the first in Suzhou City and the fourth in Jiangsu Province), which is one of the most high-end instruments in the world worth around 3 million US dollars.

Fellow of the Royal Chemical Society, Fellow of the Institute for Materials, Minerals and Mining, 100 Foreign Experts Jiangsu Province, and won the IFF Research Award of the Leibniz Institute of Solids and Materials in Germany.

Research scientist and professor with expertise in synthesis of nano-materials, nano-materials in bio-applications, nano-materials in ion insertion batteries and electron beam materials science. Deep interest in understanding formation mechanisms of low dimensional structures, their functionalization for bespoke materials design and exploiting the potential of said nanomaterials at the atomic scale, in particular through in situ electron microscopy.

Excellent publication history of over 360 articles in prestigious peer-reviewed journals including highlight journals such as Science, Nature Materials, Nature Nanotechnology, Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, Nano-Letters, ACS Nano, Physical Review Letters etc.. More than 15000 total citations (h-index-67 per Google). Obtained significant funding including funding for procurement and establishment of an aberration corrected transmission electron microscopy laboratory.
